Port Sulphur Band Hit German Album Charts for the Second Time With Hunt: Showdown 1896 Soundtrack

The band have beaten popular artists such as Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa and secured #63 on the charts this week.

Since their first album released in 2019, Port Sulphur Band have become a cult phenomenon, with over 35 million streams across three albums. Their first vinyl album, The Devil's Fee, hit #61 on the German charts – an industry first in Germany for video game soundtracks. And now they’ve done it again, with their new vinyl collection, Shadows Calling, hitting #23 on the Midweek German Album Charts, and #63 on the final German Album Top 100.

Shadow’s Calling, released on Black Screen Records on August 23, includes a collection of 27 southern gothic and dark western tracks – all a part of the soundtrack for video game Hunt: Showdown 1896. The double vinyl LP includes fan favorites such as “Bullet’s Lullaby” and “Rise Up Deadman,” as well a vinyl-exclusive track called “Tie Me to the Mast.”

Formed in the muds of Hunt’s Lawson Delta Bayou, Port Sulphur Band walk the line between fiction and reality. Both a meta element of the video game Hunt: Showdown and an in-house band of Crytek game developers, Port Sulphur Band began as a vehicle to tell stories from the world of Hunt, a supernatural shooter set at the dawn of blues and jazz in 1890s Louisiana, but through their fanbase, live shows, and Hunt’s own expansion, have grown into much more.

The European edition of the album retails for €39.00 and can be bought via the Black Screen Records website here. It’s available in a beautiful white and black marble design and captures the atmosphere of Hunt: Showdown 1896 like no other. In the US, fans can purchase the album in blood red, from the IGN store.

About Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the new era of the competitive first-person bounty hunting game, packing the thrill of survival and the reward of profit into a horror match-based format. Set in Colorado in 1896, the game boasts a mixture of PvP and PvE elements that create a uniquely tense experience. It's not just the monsters who are a threat—it's every Hunter on the map. In the classic Bounty Hunt game mode, a match pits 12 players—playing solo or in teams of two or three—against each other as they race to take out gruesome creatures for a Bounty they must collect and extract from the map. Hunt's Soul Survivor mode offers a shorter match for solo players to scavenge for weapons as they compete for a diminishing pool of Bounty. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost you everything. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Series X|S.
