Dark Americana artists Port Sulphur Band Celebrates 100 Million Streams Worldwide, Announces Deluxe Album Release and New Single the Devil’s Trail

Frankfurt, DE – 16.03.2026 - Port Sulphur Band, the enigmatic music group born from the bayou of Hunt: Showdown 1896 has reached a monumental career milestone. This month, the band announced it has surpassed 100 million streams across its four studio albums – a feat achieved through fervent support of the Hunt: Showdown 1896 community as well as music lovers pulled into the macabre atmosphere worldwide.
To mark the occasion, Port Sulphur Band filmed an exclusive look at Crytek’s studio, interviewing the game developers themselves, asking about their favorite songs of the in-house group whose iconic sound that defines the experience of Hunt.

- A brand-new single The Devil’s Trail is set to release on March 18th via Steam, Spotify, Amazon Music, and all major streaming platforms. The single arrives just in time to accompany a thrilling new in-game event, offering players and music fans two new western-driven tracks defining the mood in-game and far beyond it.

Formed in the muds of the Lawson Delta bayou, Port Sulphur Band walks the line between fiction and reality. Serving as both a meta-element of the video game Hunt: Showdown 1896 and an in-house band of developers at Crytek, the group began as a vehicle to tell stories from the world of Hunt, a supernatural extraction shooter set at the dawn of blues and jazz in 1890s Louisiana and Colorado.
Since their debut album in 2019, Port Sulphur Band has become a cult phenomenon. Their first vinyl collection, The Devil’s Fee, hit #62 on the German charts —an industry first for a video game soundtrack—followed by Shadows Calling at #63. Their fourth album, Shadows Wake, was released in December 2025. The band has since expanded their repertoire to include live performances, captivating audiences from Paris to Las Vegas. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the new era of the competitive first-person bounty hunting game, packing the thrill of survival and the reward of profit into a horror match-based format. Set in Colorado and the Louisiana bayou in 1896, the game boasts a mixture of PvP and PvE elements that create a uniquely tense experience. It's not just the monsters who are a threat—it's every Hunter on the map. In the classic Bounty Hunt game mode, a match pits 12 players—playing solo or in teams of two or three—against each other as they race to take out gruesome creatures for a Bounty Token they must collect and extract from the map. Hunt's Soul Survivor mode offers a shorter match for solo players to scavenge for weapons as they compete for a diminishing pool of bounty.
